"In a country that is well-governed, poverty is something to be ashamed of. In a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of."

- Confucius

"Without the government, everything will not be in order".

A government is the basic foundation of a nation. Being the instrument of the state, this serves the purpose of implementing rules and regulations, tending to the needs of the people, and ensuring peace and order to the nation where they took their oath to. As per Shiela (2011), "Without the government, everything will not be in order". Ultimately, its sole purpose is to maintain the unity of a nation (Pai, 2020). Its leaders shall provide platforms and acquire visions that will contribute to the country's growth and its citizens. An effective government is the key to a developed and stabilized country.

But what if we do have our existing government yet executes the exact opposite of what it should be?

Poor Governance and Leadership is a leading social issue encountered in a lot of nations all over the world. Because of this, a lot of states suffer from various social issues that could have poor governance as a big factor of their existence (Shammanay, 2021). Government, being the highest governing body in a country, is capable of leading the state in either of these two things: its success or its downfall.
